Continuing a trend of recent months, the U.S. economy experienced strong employment growth coupled with elevated inflation. These economic conditions, along with published comments from several Federal Reserve officials, led many investors to conclude that the central bank would not ease monetary policy soon. Longer-term interest rates rose, contributing to a loss in the F Fund.The C and S Funds posted gains. The I Fund also rose, although its growth was dampened by a stronger U.S. dollar.All L Funds finished higher.
