John W. Price, Sr. Obituary - 2021 (2024)

John “Bud” W. Price, Sr. 76, a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many died peacefully at his home in Everett on June 27, 2021.

Bud was born Saturday, August 12, 1944 in Everett, son of the late John C. Price and Iva C. Weicht.

His family would like to thank Sharon Hollar, his girlfriend, for her compassion and her care for Bud over the last several years.

He is survived by his children John W. Price, Jr. married to Kim, Everett; Tressa Zentack, and boyfriend, Scott Buck, Coupon, PA; Heather Holloway married to Jerry, Winston Salem, NC: Hollie Eichenlaub married to Brian, Carlisle, PA: Kelsey Price and boyfriend Landon Calhoun at home; grandchildren, who called him Pappy, Tyler Price, Tryston Price, Everett; Richard Augustine, Michael Hudak, Michaela Hudak, Tobiaz Hudak, Alexander Hudak, and Heidi Hudak, Coupon, PA; Shanzie Taylor married to Brandon, Bedford, PA, and Saradawn College, Winston Salem, NC.

Bud was one of thirteen children. He is survived by brothers Mark Price, Charles Price married to Teresa, Lynn Price, Barry Price, Michael Price married to Carol, William Price, Ray Price, James Price married to Tammy, and sisters Geraldine Stevey married to Leroy, and Gale Diehl married to Daniel.

He is also survived by his special companions, his dogs, Ginger, Baby 2, Bella, and Bandit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Mearkle, and brother, Zally Price, and his fur babies, Baby 1, Haylee, and Kierra.

Bud was a lifetime logger and ran his own sawmill business, Price’s Logging. Bud was also an avid hunter getting trophy bucks, elk, mule deer, bear, and one of his proudest was a Kodiak bear weighing 1,400 pounds and standing 10 feet tall. He took many trips to Montana, West Virginia, Canada, and Alaska.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 2:00P.M.inthe Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating.

Burial will be held privately with the immediate family.
