Glaze Over Me - rosebrided (2024)

Clad in only his shirt and panties, Sakura couldn’t help but nibble on her bottom lip and unabashedly stare at Kakashi while he was baking early in the morning, hours before his bakery was scheduled to open. The coral rays of the sun streamed through the window and maybe it was just her, but it was also getting a little hot in the kitchen.

Or maybe it was getting hot in here because of him, seeing the way he seemed almost lost in the process with the determined dip in his brows, the way he slapped and shaped the dough earlier into perfect circles, how his fingertips penetrated some of the dough to create a small hole, the veins in his forearms protruding as he was whisking away in a bowl.

The donuts cooling on the rack released tendrils of steam, filling the air with the sweet aroma of sugary vanilla. It made her mouth water in more ways than one.

Kakashi told her that he needed to make donuts in honor of National Donut Day for his customers.

Naturally, she got the first choice as his favorite, special customer. It came with the girlfriend privileges.

She swallowed hard, watching as he inserted some of the custard cream into the donuts, filling it with just the tip for a cream pie, moving on to the next donut for another cream pie, and then another.

I want that, she thought to herself and licked her lips, even though she had her fill of him several times last night in his bed.

Kakashi set the bowl down on the counter and grabbed another bowl, drizzling some glaze over a row of donuts. The glaze trickled down the sides of the donuts.

And you call him a perv, her Inner Sakura—who hadn’t made an appearance in over a decade—cackled.

Her cheeks grew warm. It wasn’t her fault she was getting turned on. He was the one being all (unintentionally) sexy while baking!

“Sakura?” Kakashi called out, resting his elbows on the counter as he interrupted her internal argument with herself. “Will you try some?”

Sakura blinked and smiled up at him. “Sure.” She walked over to him, examining the rows and rows of freshly made donuts as his taste tester. (Not like he really needed one since he’s a baking prodigy and all, but she liked being a part of it.) Some were sprinkled with powdered sugar, some were glazed, others plain and coated in individual hues of green and pink.

“You made a lot,” she remarked in awe.

Kakashi chuckled, resting his chin on her shoulder. Strands of silver hair tickled her cheek. “Let’s see… there’s plain, custard, red bean paste, glazed, chocolate, matcha, and cherry blossom,” he listed off, pointing at each one.

“Cherry blossom, huh?” Sakura plucked one of the pink donuts off the sheet and twisted her head to face him with a knowing smirk. “Was I the inspiration for this?”

Hints of scarlet spread over his cheeks. Even though they had been dating for over a year now, her heart still skipped a beat seeing it. “Perhaps,” he said playfully, shushing her with a chaste kiss on the lips.

“I know I am,” she said when he pulled away, taking a bite out of the cherry blossom donut. It was sweet, but not too sweet; warm, airy, and fluffy. She closed her eyes and let out a soft moan, swallowing. “Mm, it’s good. This is the best donut I’ve ever had.”

Kakashi smiled with a smug look in his eyes, pulling her close to him. “Good.” His lips glided down the curve of her neck, sending a flush of heat throughout her body. She set the half-eaten donut down, abandoning it in favor of his touch as she arched into him and threaded her fingers into his hair, eager to feel the heat of his body pressing against hers.

Kakashi,” she whispered.

His hands caressed her bare thighs, just below the hem of his shirt, which was a little too big on her. He dipped his head and leaned in closer, his lips traveling up to brush against her ear.

“I saw the way you were looking at me earlier,” he teased, the warmth of his breath making her skin prickle with goosebumps at the sensation.

“Oh,” she said breathlessly. She thought he was too focused on making Konoha’s best donuts to notice. “You did?”

“Of course,” he replied, mischief twinkling in his eyes. “It was the glaze, wasn’t it? Or perhaps when I was shaping the dough.”

“No, ugh, just shut up and kiss me!” she demanded.

With a chuckle, Kakashi lifted her up and set her down on the counter, spreading her legs wide to make space for him. Sakura hooked her legs around his waist and looped her arms around his neck, delighted by the small grunt he made when she pulled him in for a deep kiss.

“How much time do we have?” she asked after they broke apart, panting.

“More than enough,” he promised, slipping his fingers beneath her shirt and up her chest, claiming her mouth with another heated kiss.
