I drive a kenworth t600 tractor. Engine shut down while driving no power glided to side of road what would cause the engine to shut down in mid stride
Check coolant level or possibly a bad coolant level sensor. If either of these are at fault, it can cause the engine to shut down or run with reduced power to keep from damaging the engine. Had this problem with a 2005 Freightliner w/ Detroit engine. (bad coolant level sensor)

Make sure your DEF tank is 1/2 to FULL, you have a indicator on your fuel guage with 4 green squares, this is your DEF level. If your DEF got low, it will throw a EEC61, but you need to fill the DEF tank 1/2 full or more. After you drive awhile, after 3 key cycles that light should go off. IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM.
This is an aftertreatment code. Make sure your DEF tank is at least half full. Make sure the truck doesn't get shut off with low air pressure or the lines can't purge. Try cycling the key on and off 3 times and see if the code remains.
Most likely it thinks the DEF tank is empty because you have the 545 25 codes which is the sensor for the level valve in the tank itself. This will also cause you to have the issue wit hteh dpf system when that level sensor is faulting. Have that sensor tested and that level sensor changed out.
The Transmission Electronic Control Unit (TECU) monitors the battery voltage supplied to the TECU after completing power up. Fault Code 33 sets Active if battery voltage to the TECU falls below 7 volts for more than 1 second.
Fault Code 61 indicates a failure with the circuit controlling the Rail Motor and the side-to-side movement of the X-Y Shift Finger. Read below to learn how to test, clear and fix fault code errors for your Freightliner, Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Volvo, International, and heavy-duty truck and equipment.
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2101 stands for Throttle Actuator “A” Control Motor Circuit Range/Performance. It is usually triggered when your vehicle's powertrain control module (PCM) detects that the actual throttle position does not match the desired throttle position.
The P2101 code will typically state the description as “Throttle Actuator “A” Control Motor Circuit Range/Performance.” This can be difficult for beginners or DIYers to untangle, but it typically means that there's an issue between the actual throttle position of the vehicle and the throttle position that the ...
The Diesel Intake Air Flow Position Sensor (DIAFPS) is typically located on the throttle body attached to the intake manifold or in a tube within the intake air stream. This sensor converts the incoming airflow volume into an electrical signal for the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
ABS Fault code (11/520247/31 --Failure Memory Bit (ESC) Condition Exists) may show active and dealer is unable to locate root cause. The ESC ECU can display the code 11/520247/31 --Failure Memory Bit (ESC) Condition Exists, if the ESC is not mounted properly.
Description This Fault Sets when the Common Powertrain Controller (CPC) Detects that there is a Short to Ground on the Coolant Level Circuit or the Engine Coolant Level is Low.
Fault Code 73 is set when the X-Y Shift Finger attempts to engage a gear, but the X-Y Gear Position Sensor indicates that the transmission was unable to engage that gear. The TECU detected a system failure, but was unable to detect the specific root cause.
A component of this is the oxygen sensor, which can sense if the engine is burning too much or not enough fuel. This can trigger the CEL to indicate that the car is either running too rich or too lean, or that there's an issue with the sensor itself.
Flash Code 62 may also indicate that the function assigned to the Auxiliary Output #1, #2, #5, #6, #7 or #8 circuit output is open, shorted to ground. This diagnostic condition is detected when the Auxiliary Output #"X" function is OFF and the DDEC III ECM measures a low voltage on the circuit output.
Error code P0700 signifies that a malfunction has been detected in your vehicle's transmission controls. Most modern automobiles feature a specific control module as it relates to the vehicle's automatic transmission. This module is known as the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
