After transferring to Eastern from a community college, I was nervous about the transition. However, my experience at Eastern has been nothing but amazing! The professors in the Department of Public Health have been so accommodating, supportive, and kind!
The campus is beautiful, safe, and has so many wonderful opportunities for connecting with other students. There are events nearly everyday, a variety of clubs, and ways to connect beyond the classroom. The campus is diverse, with students of a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities. I will always cherish my time at EIU, the friends I've made, and the professors I have met.

My time at Eastern thus far has been great. They made the transition from high school to college seamless. There are so many resources for all students. They also really encourage involvement in extracurricular activities. Everyone has a place at Eastern. There are over 250 registered student organizations including academic, social, and cultural groups. If I were to change one thing about this university, it would be the enrollment numbers. EIU seen a huge drop in enrollment numbers around Covid and has been declining ever since. If enrollment numbers went up, the involvement at EIU would increase significantly.

The school is very diverse but does show support to many groups. I would like to see the school less involved in some aspects, however. The school should not be flying sexuality or race flags. If this is happening, some students who have differing beliefs are offended and feel uncomfortable within their own campus.
