If your account qualifies for Courtesy Pay and Debit Card coverage, you can save yourself from having a transaction declined because there aren't available funds in your account. These features are meant to benefit our Members by covering infrequent, accidental overdraws.
If your checking account qualifies for Courtesy Pay, Royal will pay electronic debits or check transactions even if they overdraw your account. If you opt in to Debit Card Coverage and your account qualifies, Royal will pay debit card transactions that would overdraw your account.
How Do I Opt In To Debit Card Coverage?
In our mobile app or in online banking, use the Self Service menu’s Debit Card Coverage option to opt in or opt out of Debit Card Coverage. When you are opted in to this service, your account needs to remain qualified to use it. You may opt out of this service at any time.
What Dollar Amount Does Courtesy Pay And Debit Card Coverage Cover?
Courtesy Pay and Debit Card Coverage pay overdrafts up to a variable dollar limit. The amount may change at any time based on a variety of factors. Members and Royal team members will not be able to check your limit for these services.
